Vuokko Lahtinen, conductor
Vuokko Lahtinen is a rising Finnish conductor, whose work is defined by a commitment to inclusivity and ethical sustainability in classical music. Working across both core repertoire and contemporary music, her approach is shaped by close collaboration with musicians and a background as an orchestral player.
Recent and upcoming highlights include debuts with Sinfonia Lahti, Kymi Sinfonietta, Kuopio Symphony Orchestra, and Oulu Sinfonia, appearances with Tampere Raw and Ålands Symfoniorkester and assistantship trough a masterclass at the Bayreuther Festspiele. She will also conduct the premiere of a new opera at Musica Nova in 2027 and lead projects in Germany with the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt. As part of the Sibelius Academy, she has worked with major Finnish orchestras including the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Helsinki Philharmonic.
